A Treasure Hunt

We tried our hand at Geo-caching. Pretty fun stuff. We chose 3 different treasures to search for & found 2 of them. We're determined to find the one we couldn't locate, but are wondering if it didn't wash away in the recent storms. The boys really enjoyed it & it was of course a competition.....one trying to find it before the other ones could. I thought it was like a great big egg hunt, only you don't know what the "egg" looks like, the size of it or what might be inside it. It was a blast.........I'm sure we'll do it again!
This treasure was hanging in the tree. See how tiny it was?

Celebrating the find!

Our first find!!
This one was really large!
We to remove a treasure from the box & replace with something you choose.

Footsteps

Today we were hiking & we saw this "footprint" on the side
of a vertical rock hill. Looks like someone was walking up! Sometimes in life it feels like we're literally walking up the side of a mountain. We just have to remember that God is there beside us to help us.

Proverbs 16:9
A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.

Congratulations! Proud of You!

This last week, we received a letter that because our child has "demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, exemplified worthy character, & maintained a commendable attitude" he has been invited to join National Beta Club.

How exciting for Chandler & how proud of him we are! He's worked very hard this year stepping into an unfamiliar atmosphere, one that he's never experienced before, and putting forth effort, time, & energy to be successful. We are very thankful for him. We pray that God guides and directs his steps.

Below are a few scriptures we pray over both of our boys....God's Word is Powerful & will never return void!

My Children have the mind of Christ, an anointed mind. They are quick to learn & have success in school. They are renewed in the spirit of their minds. Like Daniel, they stand for God & God blesses them with skill in learning, in wisdom & in understanding. In all matters they are found to be ten times better than the devil’s children. I Cor 2:16; Daniel 1:8-21; Ephesians 4:23

Happy Birthday

Chandler celebrated his 15th birthday this year!
Of course we ate Mexican food!
He's a kid after my own heart!!!
We are very proud of him & all that he's done!
Happy Birthday Chandler-man!
We love you!

Daffodils

We spent the day at the Wye Mountain Daffodil Fields today. We packed a picnic & set out for a nice day. I always love going out to the fields. The flowers are beautiful, and they always remind me of my grandmothers who both loved flowers. We've always been able to go on a weekday until this year. With Chandler being in school, we had to go on the weekend. The downside was that it was extremely busy. I miss being able to do things at odd times and having to conform to a schedule but it was a wonderful, relaxing time.

First Baseball Game of High School

Chandler's first high school baseball game went well. He's extremely glad they are finally playing games. Very proud of him & the fact that he made the varsity team as a 9th grader! He is a very hard worker in what he does in life! Way to go Chandler!!!!
